A weekly summer pop-up event venue founded by us during the COVID-19 pandemic when dance parties were not allowed. It was created to provide people with a safe space to blow off steam in a COVID-safe manner. Right now, it has evolved into a occasional pop-up party that serves as a platform for local musicians, DJs, and collectives—a place where people come together, inspire and get inspired, and enjoy music."

De Binnenplaats started on the old courtyard of ‘De Dames school’, also known as Bar Rodin. The doors opened every Friday during the summers of 2020 and 2021 for cozy evenings filled with fine dining, local DJ's and seated dancing.

XL at Yust

Due to the closure of Bar Rodin, De Binnenplaats had to look for another venue to host their parties. Their first stop after Bar Rodin was at the parking lot of the iconic Yust Hotel. A combination of live acts, DJ’s, delicious burgers and cocktails made this event a memorable experience.

In 2023 De Binnenplaats headed indoor for one of their most special editions to date. They organized a unique winter edition in one of Antwerp’s best kept secrets: a historic heritage and old trade fair building in the south. The stunning location, amazing performances and a top notch lightshow made this edition one for the books.
